UMBRELLA ACADEMY: WEIRD IS GREAT!

I feel like this is the first time i have made a post about a show that just got released this early. Truth be told, i missed a class trying to binge all ten episodes of the new netflix show; Doom Patrol (that was a joke), sorry Umbrella Academy.  Honestly speaking, i find it truly intriguing how rare and fascinating how two really good and similar shows like Doom Patrol and Umbrella Academy got released during the same period of time. With the Netflix marvel shows being cancelled, i think its safe to say we'll still have our dosage of realistic superheroes on the small screen.
Based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, Umbrella Academy tells the story of a group of kids who wan born on the same day in 1989 to mothers who weren't pregnant before that day. A rich man named Sir Reginald Hargreeves who managed to adopt seven kids out of the forty-three that were born on that day. With six of them(allegedly) having extraordinary powers, Sir Reginald decides to make them a team of crime fighting heroes through his very strict training methods that end up damaging them emotionally, psychologically and physically growing up.

The show focuses on the kids all grown up while showing us flashbacks that tie up to their current predicaments in each episodes. The team of crime fighting kids dubbed; ''The Umbrella Academy'' by their father lacked any form of emotional connection with the man because of how cold he was, he didn't even give them names, instead, he opted to call them by their numbers; that is, from number one to seven but luckily for them their robot mother (yup i know it's weird) who gave each of them except number five actual names.
The siblings are really interesting, each member of the umbrella academy is unique, super powers aside. Their leader Luther is a really big guy with super strength, Diego is essentially the group's Batman with incredible reflexes, fighting skills and excellent precision,Allison has a really weird power, she can control you into doing anything as long as she starts of with the phrase "i heard a rumor that" and boom! you've been hypnotized. Number 5 has the ability to travel through time and space, Ben brings out really big tentacles, Klaus can conjure up the dead and Vanya can err....err..she's ordinary.
I really enjoyed the style of this show, it has a mix of several time periods, the music in it is honestly stellar with each episode having at least one classic song that adds to the scene in which it's played.Side characters like Hazel and Cha Cha(played by the beautiful Mary J. Blige) are very entertaining that most times i found myself wanting more of them than even the main cast of characters. They are a bunch of new surprises as you progress through the season, they are unexpected deaths, interesting new possibilities that really make me hyped about season two. I think if i were to name my three favorite characters from the academy, i'd have to  pick, Klaus, Diego and Number 5 because i think they were the ones that kept the series going really well paced.
So if you've got approximately eleven hours of free time on your hands, i advice you see this show as soon as possible because its really good. I do have to warn you that you may either really hate the finale or love it very very much so please keep that in mind and don't kill me when you're through. Also, due to some issues with google, i urge you to write your name when commenting so i know who's posting but you do not need to do that if you have a google blogger account. Thank You.

I Truly Loved Wonder Woman 1984: An Honest Review

Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins all returning in their respective duties with the first two as actors and Patty as the director once again.   Wonder Woman 1984 has only been out for a few days and within that time has been destroyed critically with people (including a couple of my friends) downright calling it horrible and a strong contender for worst movie of the year. While I'm not one to be swayed by the popular opinion of most critic reviews, seeing a couple of people whose tastes I respect speak ill of the film honestly made me scared and so I avoided watching it until today when I decided that I had to be brave and face my fear!   As seen by the trailers and  other promotional materials, Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the 80's, specifically, 1984, the film has the classic retro feel to it and unapologetically embraces it. Please note that while I will not be spoiling anything major, I may ...

Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Wolf Children)

Anime is one of the best mediums of story telling in recent years. It's diverse and offers a wide variety of genres, from comedy, action, thriller and romance. Most popular series are usually fast paced, exaggerated and action packed but, pretty much all the amazing anime films are usually grounded, slow and visually phenomenal and these are qualities this film taps into.                        Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Wolf Children) is honestly what great movies are all about. I remember seeing the trailer a few months back and I was so interested in seeing how it would play out, while I knew I was going to be in for an emotional roller coaster, I didn't quite expect it to start within the first thirty minutes of the film's screen time.                    The film's premise from the trailer was pretty simple, a young optimistic female college student called Hana falls for...

Who Would Win? Batman Vs Spiderman

Okay before I start I'd like you all to know I am not being partial in any way at all. I had this argument with my friend Andrea a couple of days back and now I feel like sharing on who I think would win,but I realised they are two perspective 1-choosing a winner based on accomplishment 2-choosing a winner based on powers or strengths 1- this perspective is basically saying "oh look at this let's check out both characters accomplishments",they both have taken down a large amount of enemies ranging from smart villains to dumb ones, they've both faced foes that are big and strong. So it's only reasonable to think Batman would win here, not by a long shot though because Spiderman is a force to be reckoned with. Batman has basically done more important things,he has defeated Superman severally, dodged darkseid's omega beams, outsmarted braniac,I mean the man is a bit fluent in kryptonian and he knows several martial art skills and he's just a human......

IT(2017):Lazy Review

I've been stuck thinking about what to post and I got nothing. But I remembered that I watched "IT" late December and I wasn't scared surprisingly. I mean, they were a couple of jump scares but overall nothing really scared me. It was a fun movie though and I see why it got a sequel announced and universal praise. It's based of the first chapter of the Stephen King novel of the same name and I have read a couple of pages from  the book but I haven't finished it because I'm lazy and I procrastinate a lot(I haven't still finished reading a song of ice and fire).   Set in the '90-somethings(I'm lazy don't eat me) in a town of something, something(I know, you're disappointed) a series of kids get missing and the adults of the town act like nothing's happening. Bill Denbrough(that's right,I remembered his name) looses his brother as well. Billy and other kids in the town(including his friends) start to see th...
