UMBRELLA ACADEMY: WEIRD IS GREAT!

I feel like this is the first time i have made a post about a show that just got released this early. Truth be told, i missed a class trying to binge all ten episodes of the new netflix show; Doom Patrol (that was a joke), sorry Umbrella Academy.  Honestly speaking, i find it truly intriguing how rare and fascinating how two really good and similar shows like Doom Patrol and Umbrella Academy got released during the same period of time. With the Netflix marvel shows being cancelled, i think its safe to say we'll still have our dosage of realistic superheroes on the small screen.
Based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, Umbrella Academy tells the story of a group of kids who wan born on the same day in 1989 to mothers who weren't pregnant before that day. A rich man named Sir Reginald Hargreeves who managed to adopt seven kids out of the forty-three that were born on that day. With six of them(allegedly) having extraordinary powers, Sir Reginald decides to make them a team of crime fighting heroes through his very strict training methods that end up damaging them emotionally, psychologically and physically growing up.

The show focuses on the kids all grown up while showing us flashbacks that tie up to their current predicaments in each episodes. The team of crime fighting kids dubbed; ''The Umbrella Academy'' by their father lacked any form of emotional connection with the man because of how cold he was, he didn't even give them names, instead, he opted to call them by their numbers; that is, from number one to seven but luckily for them their robot mother (yup i know it's weird) who gave each of them except number five actual names.
The siblings are really interesting, each member of the umbrella academy is unique, super powers aside. Their leader Luther is a really big guy with super strength, Diego is essentially the group's Batman with incredible reflexes, fighting skills and excellent precision,Allison has a really weird power, she can control you into doing anything as long as she starts of with the phrase "i heard a rumor that" and boom! you've been hypnotized. Number 5 has the ability to travel through time and space, Ben brings out really big tentacles, Klaus can conjure up the dead and Vanya can err....err..she's ordinary.
I really enjoyed the style of this show, it has a mix of several time periods, the music in it is honestly stellar with each episode having at least one classic song that adds to the scene in which it's played.Side characters like Hazel and Cha Cha(played by the beautiful Mary J. Blige) are very entertaining that most times i found myself wanting more of them than even the main cast of characters. They are a bunch of new surprises as you progress through the season, they are unexpected deaths, interesting new possibilities that really make me hyped about season two. I think if i were to name my three favorite characters from the academy, i'd have to  pick, Klaus, Diego and Number 5 because i think they were the ones that kept the series going really well paced.
So if you've got approximately eleven hours of free time on your hands, i advice you see this show as soon as possible because its really good. I do have to warn you that you may either really hate the finale or love it very very much so please keep that in mind and don't kill me when you're through. Also, due to some issues with google, i urge you to write your name when commenting so i know who's posting but you do not need to do that if you have a google blogger account. Thank You.

Euphoria: Back With A Bang!

After taking the world by storm in 2019, critically acclaimed HBO phenomenon Euphoria returns with its second season and from the looks of the premiere episode, it’s going to make its debut season look like child’s play.  Please note, there might be mild spoilers ahead The first episode of Euphoria’s sophomore season starts off like previous episodes, with an opening containing background info on a specific character and this time around, it’s none other than super chill fan favorite Fez. We get to find out about how his childhood was, how his surrogate little brother Ashtray came about and why he does what he does. As someone who already loved Fez before this, I have to say having more insight on his background really adds more depth to his character.  After our flashback opening the story moves to the new year which is after the Rue euphoria special which took place in Christmas where she went to a diner with Ali to talk about her life and issues with substance abuse....

Samurai Jack's Finale Review!

If you grew up watching jack try to defeat aku and you got sad cause you never got a conclusion well the new season given to you by adult swim got you covered...it has 10 episodes and most weren't the best but they all had top notch voice acting and animation. The finale episode picks up were episode 9 left off with Aku capturing our awesome samurai and Ashi still in control of Aku.It's not Aku unless he gloats so in typical fashion Aku streamed a live video of samurai Jack chained and about to be killed...it was funny because he used the montage of the original show, which was a nice nod.All those who jack has helped since season 1 watched as he was tortured and they all joined together to attack Aku's headquarters... They all fired at Aku but with him being all powerful he wasn't affected....While all this was happening my guy Jack was trying to bring his babe back to the light side so he can slide into her DM😂😂😂...am just kidding he just wanted her to su...

HATING ON AD ASTRA

Ad Astra is a space movie. It tries to depict what could be the future advancement of humanity and technology. It is a James Gray movie led by Brad Pitt that does not deserve to be seen more than twice. The second watch being a stretch. In all my life, I don't remember taking three days to finish a movie. I saw Justice League, End Game, The Godfather I and II, etc in one sitting, but not Ad Astra. While some might argue that the pace is perfect, I counter, asking, "To what end?"  Ad Astra is a space movie revolving around Roy McBride and unresolved daddy issues that somehow eats badly into his life. Notwithstanding, he's required to get to Neptune and stop a surge that could end human life. Brad Pitt delivers a stellar performance on what cold feels and sounds like with the material he's provided. I will now begin my hate. The music composition is one of the worst space movie compositions as it lacks originality and observable niche. It's a strivin...

Sex Education

Sex Education is Netflix's latest addition to their list of unique top notch quality shows. Sex Education is a relevant coming of age show that revolves around teenage sexuality and it's complexities. I feel like most movies or shows that try to tackle subject matter like this end up focusing on glorious sex rather than the very common awkwardness that leads up to it. Sex Education is very raw and authentic, I say this because I relate to it based on the fact that I am a pervert and also a pubescent man-baby.   Sixteen Year Old Otis is an awkward teen living with his mother who happens to be a sex therapist.  Otis's best friend Eric is an openly gay boy in school and he's extremely funny and their friendship is true and strong. When The Headmaster's son who's known for being a big prick both literally and figuratively takes sexual enhancement drugs in order to be able to have great pleasure but he actually takes too much and ends up having an er...
