Enjoying music (on your own)

Music is not for the English

or French,

or Italian, or anyone at all.

Music is the simple or complex cluster of sounds that sound pleasing, acceptable to the ear. Needless say, almost every person appreciates good music and some have mistaken this appreciation as an avenue to create something. Some succeed at it, and others - a whole bunch - don't.

Music isn't just something you create on a whim, unless you're Labrinth 🐐

Seriously, creating music is difficult, complex and very stressful. But there's an easier part and it's called LISTENING - not like Wizkid FC and Tiwa Savage's gladiators sha.

People oft imagine music to be "better" when the speakers are going like the drums of judgement day and uhh... no. Don't do that. Music inflated by volume is noise. [Unless it's metal, then KPK👍]

There are 5 simple ways to enjoy music when step 0 - good speakers/headphones - is achieved.

- First, music is best enjoyed in a peaceful environment, not a market. You know how it is. Home alone, vinyl playing, hips swaying - horribly infact - to the tune, murmuring lyrics or humming, doing chores, at the same time. Beautiful, peaceful shit.

- It's a fact that instrumentalists appreciate music more. So, learn to play an instrument. Then, one would appreciate the difficulty in creating sounds. It's not necessary but hey... why not?

- As therapy and to tackle present emotions. You know what album got you through the break up with Folake.

- Explore a wide range of genres. Listening to only one genre not only limits the experience, it also tires one out. Jump into the sea of no conclusion.

- Last, but not important: try to read song lyrics. Some music tend to pass a message, others are purely for Wizkid FC vibes.

We hope you find the right songs and sounds to better your day.

First Listen: Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.

woah. brother broccoli starts 2023 with something totally unexpected: a psychedelic rock album. lil yachty said in an interview (with someone i don't remember) that he just wants to be taken seriously, as a musician. it's a little sad when someone puts their all into a craft, sometimes even create a groundbreaking sound, but still get termed the bare minimum or worse, "mumble rapper." while this album is beautiful, it's not as stellar as other projects in the same genre. but music is more than that. it's also the process, emotions, message, etc. brother broccoli took a risk to make what he wants/feels and he succeeded. that's what makes this album a beauty asides the wonky ai art and trying-hard-to-stay-in-the-flow lyricism . the features ate. the producers brought their a-game. the engineers blessed the record. since poland, it's clear that yachty decided to broaden his scope and make not just music he loves, but quality. i definitely respect his art...

WESTWORLD: A NEW WORLD

Do you like westerns(cowboy films) ? Are you a sci-fi fan?  Do you like the Nolan Brothers(Christopher and Jonathan)  who have brought you collaborative projects like Inception and Interstellar?  Well if you do like all those things, keep reading and if you don't, keep reading... There's a point to this.  Westworld, is a sci-fi, western television series that tackles the question created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Westworld is a very ambitious show that tackles the questions, "what does it mean to be conscious"? and "what it means to be truly human". In the future, there's a super realistic western park created by a man named Ford and his dead partner Arnold. They created life like being called hosts and gave them roles to play in a western world.  Real human beings come to the park and are given the opportunity to dive into the madness and realness of the place. They can do whatever they want to in the park and that is just a fraction...

Mowgli:Legend Of The Jungle

Mowgli legend of the jungle is an adaptation of the book "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling which inspired the creation of the Disney classic of the same name.  That said Disney classic got the live action treatment sometimes last year and it got praised for it faithfully stating true to the Disney classic and for its incredibly photorealistic CGI.  Mowgli tells the story of the jungle book again but this time, it isn't based on the Disney film but rather the original source material by Rudyard Kipling.  Disney's the jungle book wasn't a straight up faithful adaptation but it managed to stick to major plot points of the book and this film tries to flesh out those plot points by giving all the characters a realistic backstory that doesn't make characters beside the Man Cub feel like they're only there for plot convenience.  I haven't read book by Rudyard Kipling but I know this film is a more faithful adaptation than the Disney film.   Dire...
