Aladdin: A Whole New World

Aladdin is a classic Disney film and just like the classics before it, Aladdin has gotten its own live action remake and i'm here to tell you what i think about it. Disney's Aladdin tries to improve on the old film by adding layers of depth to characters like the Genie and Jasmine. Guy Ritchie helms the project and if you're familiar with his previous works like King Arthur:Legend Of The Sword and Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, you'd know he's very good at translating fantasy and craziness to the big screen and Aladdin is in no case different as he embraces the old classic and makes important adjustments to it.

The cast of this new film do a really great job, i think the only person who truly felt different from the original had to be Jafar but i guess they were going for a more direct and diabolical than creepy and a master planner. Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie are played by Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith respectively while Jafar is played by Marwan Kenzarie there's also a love interest for the genie,Dalia, who happens to be the loyal handmaiden of Princess Jasmine played by Nasim Petrad. Every one of them does justice to their roles and keep the pace of the film flowing.

I think the standouts for me in this were Smith's Genie and Scott's Jasmine. The latter even has a whole new original song that's really really good called Speechless that's sang by Naomi herself and the scene where its performed is great and a really good addition to the film and her performance made me like the character even more.

Controversies started when it was announced that Will Smith would be playing the Genie because of the late Robin Williams who played the Genie in the original and how he was irreplaceable but even in the midst of all that, Will really really delivered with this one. He's so likeable and charismatic and his Genie has great chemistry with Massoud's Aladdin that makes their relationship believable.
They were certain little changes made here that i wasn't exactly happy about that made sense technically since its the live action version. Things like the cave of wonders not being able to speak as well as Largo just talking like an actual parrot rather than having an actual vast vocabulary.

All in all, Aladdin is a really good film that pays respect to the original while making realistic changes that keep the plot moving more organically thanks to its great cast and good direction. UMBRELLA ACADEMY: WEIRD IS GREAT!

I feel like this is the first time i have made a post about a show that just got released this early. Truth be told, i missed a class trying to binge all ten episodes of the new netflix show; Doom Patrol (that was a joke), sorry Umbrella Academy. Army Of The Dead: A Crazy Roller Coaster!

Visionary director, Zack Snyder comes through with a new release following his long awaited director’s cut of 2017’s Justice League. This time (and thanks to Netflix), he has full creative control of the entire film. Army of the dead was shot, written and directed by Zack himself and is his return to horror, the same genre of his first feature film “Dawn of the Dead”. BLACK PANTHER: SPOILER REVIEW

If you haven ’ t seen black panther,I don ’t think you’d understand this post because I’ll be talking about things that happened rather than explaining them like most spoiler reviews. I’ll start of by talking about who everyone is talking about and that is no one else but Erik Killmonger. Erik Killmonger and Ulysyss Klaw are now my favorite villains.
