Ben 10: What Happened?

Ben 10 is an american animated show that had everything every kid wanted in a TV show; fun characters, great action sequences, great comedy and a good story. So what exactly happened? How did Ben 10 go from a great show with two great sequels(alien force and ultimate alien) to a very bad show(omniverse and that new crap).

Like I said earlier Ben 10 had everything every kid wanted and on top of that it was unique, the concept of the omniverse was fascinating and that gave the first three Ben 10 shows a huge and non declining fan base.

Over the progression from Ben 10 to Alien Force to Ultimate Alien, a couple of things changed like "villain" characters becoming anti heroes and good guys. I loved this not because it was fun to see old villains turn good but I loved it because of the way they did. It didn't just happen in one episode, it took time characters developed realistically and you loved them even more and typical examples of such characters are Kevin Ethan Leven and Charm caster.

Just look how cool and awesome they look here

And look how shitty they look in omniverse😭😭😭

Dwayne McDuffie died and ever since he passed the quality of the Ben 10 shows fell flat and it lost all it had. Dwayne was a legend in the animation game and from the looks of things,it seemed like he was the one actually contributing to keeping the show's quality because man of action let the studio do what they wanted. After Dwayn's death, they were no great stories and twists, it was just cheap marketing to sell toys and I understand why they'd want to sell toys, what I don't get is why they ruin their great shows and dumb it down to a Level of constant "jokes" to the extent that it's not even funny.
Omniverse was a masterpiece compared to this

Just think about the possibilities if Ben10 was still as good as it used to be. We would have gotten more movies and more games and more amazing episodes!!!. All these stupid studio execs always assume they have to make things babyish like teen titan go(don't get me wrong I find it funny) before they can get the younger demographic.

The thing that vexes me the most is the fact that Ben 10 has such a rich universe that they're endless possibilities for storylines. They could make a Ben10,000,forever knights history, alien x's home world  or a plumbers academy spinoff and it'd be great but instead of pitches like that to get green lighted, we get dumb 10 short episodes of stupidity and rubbish.
How I feel watching Omniverse and the Reboot

I just honestly really really hope they scrap the new dumb show and go back to their roots and make quality level programming because fans of the franchise like myself really really want that.

Why I Love: Ted Lasso

The sports genre in film and on TV is quite popular if you really think about it. We see tons of shows and movies on basketball almost yearly yet ironically, the world’s most popular sport Football (no, I’m not talking about American rugby) hardly gets represented on our screens. Apple TV remedies that by introducing us to Ted Lasso, a beautiful show that is definitely going to be the Renaissance for Football in scripted media.  This post will be an addition to my “why I love” series and isn’t going to spoil anything substantial. With that being said, let’s begin;    Ted Lasso is an Apple TV original that is loosely based on the NBC short “An American Coach In London” with a seminar premise from almost a decade ago. The premise being, An American football (not the real football) coach comes to England to coach a traditional football team with zero experience. The most noticeable difference between the two is that the NBC short is simply a sketch and doesn’t t...

Severance: An Unforgettable Thriller

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you didn't remember the stress of your workplace when you get home? From the mind of Dan Erickson, directed by Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle, Severance offers an answer to the aforementioned question and pushes the limit by asking " when your consciousness is spilt into two, which one is the real you? " The series follows a severed employee at Lumon, Mark who has recently been promoted to the Head of Microdata and Refinement Department after the sudden resignation of his boss and the recruitment of a new employee, Helly Riggs. Plot Severance has a unique plot, while the execution of a series without a definite blueprint can prove difficult, it does not fall into this hole. The series answers (almost)all the questions it poses in the first few episodes but ends on a note that will leave you spiraling and brimming with inquisitiveness.  Characters For every character, we follow two distinct ...

First Listen: Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.

woah. brother broccoli starts 2023 with something totally unexpected: a psychedelic rock album. lil yachty said in an interview (with someone i don't remember) that he just wants to be taken seriously, as a musician. it's a little sad when someone puts their all into a craft, sometimes even create a groundbreaking sound, but still get termed the bare minimum or worse, "mumble rapper." while this album is beautiful, it's not as stellar as other projects in the same genre. but music is more than that. it's also the process, emotions, message, etc. brother broccoli took a risk to make what he wants/feels and he succeeded. that's what makes this album a beauty asides the wonky ai art and trying-hard-to-stay-in-the-flow lyricism . the features ate. the producers brought their a-game. the engineers blessed the record. since poland, it's clear that yachty decided to broaden his scope and make not just music he loves, but quality. i definitely respect his art...

First Listen: Hamond - Pirate Radio

since i heard  windows , i have been sloppy on Hamond.  Pirate Radio  is almost everything i imagine indie pop to be. it's glittery, experimental, vocal, and hard work. half the time, i don't even understand his poetry but it sounds so  damn good . the other half explores experiences of failed/failing relationships, problematic partners, and misplaced gaiety. storytelling like this always gets me into a frenzy, especially with fitting production.  the unconventional mix and production sets this art piece aside from the rest within its genre. especially the drums. nothing cliché with his lyrics or style of music. just pure, honest music that makes me bust some ass to his misfortune. 😀 mehn, it is definitely one of the better listens from 2022. give it a spin?
