Ant-man and The Wasp(2018)

For me,one of the MCU films that stands out and is genuinely funny is the first Ant-man. So when I heard about the sequel I was happy,Ant-man didn't try to be a masterpiece or anything it was just a relatable superhero movie that had very cool characters and a wannabe Obadiah Stane villain.

I like checking out reviews of movies before I see them and also like getting in depth analysis from my favorite youtubers like Jeremy Jahns just so I can have an idea of what am going into. And so from what reviewers were saying it seemed like this was a bad movie and that it was pointless one YouTube reviewer who I love even went on to sat Michelle Pfeiffer was confused and didn't know what she was doing in the damn film.

Fast forward to me seeing the film,I finally got to make an opinion of my own and kind of see where some reasonable people were coming from. I mean there's a lot of confusing stuff here that doesn't hold up with the continuity such as Ghost's back story but it's actually not that big of deal.....it would have been better if they tried to fit her in the narrative a little more better but they didn't so what?.

Everybody acted like this was such a terrible outing when in reality one of the worst marvel movies ever made known as Ragnarok(yes I said it) was praised and made a ton of movie so what exactly was/is the problem with Ant-man and the Wasp?.

For one,it confirms that Marvel are trying their best to make very relatable villains that you can sympathise with. I mean Ghost isn't even really a villain, she's just a young girl trying to save her self from dying due to an accident she got with the Quantum realm. It's not really executed the best way but it definitely gets you wondering if you'd do the same thing in her shoes because the actress is so good and she convinces you that this is her only shot at life.

The main story is as simple as any thing. Hank believes his wife is  still alive and with his daughter's help,re-enlists a house arrest induced Scott to help them while escaping his parole officers and black market tech sellers. Okay now so if there's anything I agree on,it was definitely dumbing down Scott's intelligence to make Hope seem more efficient as the wasp.

Scott's daughter is more adorable in this one,I loved her even much and they kind of set up a superhero future with her and from recent casting news it seems as though that will be what happens next.
I have no idea why this was done because it honestly sucked and made no sense because they basically made Scott a big dummy. I really hated all the scenes where they made Scott super stupid... Every one of them sucked and it wasn't cool to see at all.

I liked Alot of the characters but most of the time I felt like they gave Luis too much screentime because he was a fan favorite from the first one which wasn't all that good to me you know?. The comedy also is really great when they're not focusing on selling a joke...all the scenes where they're going back and forth on a specific joke just sucks except the truth serum joke, that one was really funny.

But honestly,I don't see why anybody would say this film was bad,the story line is really simple and ran away from the whole saving the world scenario and I think maybe that's why "MCU Geeks" didn't like it I mean releasing that post infinity war would definitely leave a lot of people scratching their heads. But,it makes up for it with the post credit scene that will definitely make you feel sad and start to truly see the gravity of Thanos's finger snap.

 Interlude: if it matters here are my favorite characters from the film;
-Scott
-Ghost
-Cassie
-Goliath
-Hope
-Luis
-Hank

If you saw the leaked avengers 4 images and watch this film(especially the first credit scene) you'll start to have an idea of what Marvel's future plan is and I think it just might be....TIME TRAVEL.

Why I Love: One Piece

Last year was quite a hard time for me, it was my final year at the university and for what  felt like the first time in my life, I was truly struggling with school. Not the “oh I’m scared I might not do well” but I was genuinely doing bad. This wasn’t because I wasn’t reading or not putting in the work, it was just because I was given a terrible lecturer as a supervisor. I used to think I had a good relationship with him but during the course of the second semester I began to see a shift in his personality and obvious hate towards me. As someone who struggles with insecurities, I was constantly insulted and ridiculed for no real reasons and even though I knew what he said about me wasn’t true,  I was still hurt. Hurt not just because of how he made me feel bad but hurt because the idea of failing and disappointing my parents and family in general was killing me on the inside and I had no means to express how trapped I felt. You’re probably wondering, “Why...

First Listen: SZA - SOS

much like Kendrick Lamar with Mr Morale & The Big Steppers , SOS is several things. underwhelming being one. the twenty three song album is not what you expect of an artiste that's been away from the solo scene for five years. note: is it a bad album? no. so does it possess the dawg? sadly, no. SOS is that album with a poorly mixed intro, forgettable songs, i-will-need-more-listens, and (of course) a few songs that are actually GREAT ! we all know the theme of the album but one of the reason it fails might be because too much is happening. one minute it's rnb/soul, next minute it's (t)rap. i mean... F2F is rock ffs. there's also lyricsm that reminds us of kdot. coincidence? it's definitely not an album i'll be spinning often but hopefully a couple listens changes my opinion . & just so we're clear, CTRL is the better album and Phoebe Bridgers is amazing!

Samurai Champloo: Why Is It So Good?

In the year 2005, the anime community had one of their gems; Samurai Champloo come out. Its well written and set in an extremely lively version of old school (Edo) japan. Its storyline is simple, two extremely skilled yet very different swordsmen Mugen and Jin have fate bring them across a young outspoken lady Fuu who helps them out of a tough spot and insist on them accompany her to find the very vaguely named “samurai who smells of sunflowers”. This serves as the catalyst that carries us on a well voiced, animated, and extremely stylistic adventure across japan towards the course of its 20 plus episode run. Here are some of the reasons I think Samurai Champloo is so enjoyable   1. TONE AND SETTING: One of the reasons it works so well is that even with its fictional story, its grounded in reality without being overly dramatic or serious. Most films, shows and games based off old eras like this usually take themselves super serious and in the process turn out being bla...

Who Would Win? Batman Vs Spiderman

Okay before I start I'd like you all to know I am not being partial in any way at all. I had this argument with my friend Andrea a couple of days back and now I feel like sharing on who I think would win,but I realised they are two perspective 1-choosing a winner based on accomplishment 2-choosing a winner based on powers or strengths 1- this perspective is basically saying "oh look at this let's check out both characters accomplishments",they both have taken down a large amount of enemies ranging from smart villains to dumb ones, they've both faced foes that are big and strong. So it's only reasonable to think Batman would win here, not by a long shot though because Spiderman is a force to be reckoned with. Batman has basically done more important things,he has defeated Superman severally, dodged darkseid's omega beams, outsmarted braniac,I mean the man is a bit fluent in kryptonian and he knows several martial art skills and he's just a human......
