Yes,I have been evading this for so long but my little sister just watched the movie and she thoroughly enjoyed it,especially the dance scene and the candy crush game segment, she laughed a lot and felt like it was a fun movie. I actually watched it a while back but I've been mute because I didn't feel a need to talk about it but after seeing how my sister enjoyed it,I feel my thoughts are needed so now I have to give my opinion(emphasis on "my opinion").
Before I personally watched this bizarre movie I checked all the reviews so as to see what I was getting into(bare in mind,I don't make opinions based on reviews of "critics"). All the reviews I read bashed it and called it bad movie, saying it was just a gigantic advertisement Sony used to market their items......let's be honest is that a bad thing?,let's think about it...it's called the emoji movie,it's about freaking emojis, where do we see emojis? Well you guessed right! We see them on our devices, and our devices just don't house emojis do they? Our devices, house the apps the emojis exist in,and those apps are shown in this very.
Now fast forward to when I actually watched the movie. My first thought was the plot is basic, but not in a bad way to be honest. It had a main protagonist(gene) who couldn't fit in because he had a glitch which made him have the ability to show other expressions outside of his native " meh". I know that sounds boring but it wasn't it was pretty fun,it's a solid pop corn movie...it didn't set out to be some philosophical movie or something it was just simple.
I personally find it funny that all these supposed critics are bashing it when they eat up what ever Disney throws at them,it's double standards if you ask me. You can't just praise one company for doing one thing and criticize another for doing the exact same thing.
Basically what I'm saying is,I enjoyed it,my sister enjoyed it and a ton of kids did too,is it deep? No... Does it have any agendas? No...was it fun? Yes!..Did it have likable characters? Well kinda...was it cliché? Well of course it's the freaking "emoji movie".
Dear Critics stop being hypocritical and actually try to enjoy things and stop being biased, the emoji movie certainly doesn't deserve a 9% on rotten tomato,I've seen actual garbage movies with higher ratings on that site,so! Better work on your clearly biased reviews, thank you.
From Barney, with sincere hope that you guys actually become credible reviewers
