Euphoria

Euphoria is a 2019 teen drama television series which first season just finished airing on HBO earlier this week. The network is known for pushing the boundaries of what a television program should be able to show and do, from shows like The Sopranos, The Wire,Game Of Thrones and now; Euphoria. Euphoria pushes the limit with gritty realism and a sharp intelligent script that manages to dive deeply into the life of a teenager in the twenty first century. It removes itself from the classic conventional high school tropes and instead decides to be raw and honest about teenage ordeals.  The show centers around Rue Bennet, a seventeen year old girl with a drug addiction who just recently got out of rehab and her struggles as well as the very complicated and sometimes screwed up mental state of her friends and the other characters on the show. Every character in this show is intriguing in one way or the other either through their character motivations or just their personalities. W

UMBRELLA ACADEMY: WEIRD IS GREAT!

I feel like this is the first time i have made a post about a show that just got released this early. Truth be told, i missed a class trying to binge all ten episodes of the new netflix show;  Doom Patrol  (that was a joke), sorry Umbrella Academy.   Honestly speaking, i find it truly intriguing how rare and fascinating how two really good and similar shows like Doom Patrol and Umbrella Academy got released during the same period of time. With the Netflix marvel shows being cancelled, i think its safe to say we'll still have our dosage of realistic superheroes on the small screen.   Based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, Umbrella Academy tells the story of a group of kids who wan born on the same day in 1989 to mothers who weren't pregnant before that day. A rich man named Sir Reginald Hargreeves who managed to adopt seven kids out of the forty-three that were born on that day. With six of them(allegedly) having extraordinary powers, Sir Reginald decides

DOOM PATROL

The second DC Universe Live Action show; Doom Patrol just premiered and I must say, it was a really interesting watch. Following the lives of the Doom Patrol, a team of very strange heroes who we first encounter during an episode of Titans, the show sheds more light on how they came to be the "freaks" that they are now through a brilliant narrator who ties into the episode and beautiful acting from every member of the cast.   If you saw them in Titans, you might have been pissed off by the actor who played Chief there. I thought he was horrible and the show recast him with a much better and intense actor who carries each scene he's in. With just the first episode, I was very impressed by how funny, serious and emotional it was. Unlike the show before it, Doom Patrol managed to start off on a high note with so many possibilities, it actually manage to do the whole team dynamic better than the Titan show.  I could actually feel the bond amongst each member of th

VIKINGS:RAGNAROK

A lot of people quit watching vikings after Ragnar ’s chapter came to an end and I understand their decision for doing so but if you’re like me and you kept watching then I’m pretty sure you’ve enjoyed how trilling and surprising this past season has been. It’s difficult for a show to move forward without its main character,I know you might say game of thrones did it but the truth is; there is no real “main character” on game of thrones. Vikings can also be argued to be like game of thrones in that sense but at its core and for the most part, Vikings has been the story of Ragnar Lothbrok and his life experiences. Right now, Viking currently centers on the Sons of Ragnar and their internal and external conflicts. The fifth season especially the second half which just ended last week has been truly thrilling and shocking. It honestly reminded of the earlier seasons of game of thrones in terms of shocking twists like unexpected deaths.  Asides from moving away from its tit

Young Justice: Outsiders

After a freaking long hiatus and thanks to the new DC streaming service, fans of Young Justice finally got a new season of their show. Kind of like the second season, this season moves on from the climatic last episode and starts a fresh new storyline with a bunch of new characters.  If I didn't love the second season, I'd feel underwhelmed but my faith is strong due to how everything came together perfectly in the second season even after initially ignoring the final events of the first season.    The new season takes place two years after where the last one left of, starting of with a fresh story involving meta human trafficking and political difference within the league.  With the airing schedule being three episodes each week, I was skeptical about watching three each week but I'm glad I did just that. I noticed there's been a lot of changes to the characters like costumes and character designs, for instance;  Wonder Woman is wearing her New 52 costu

ELSEWORLDS: PART TWO

Picking up immediately where the first part of the crossover left of off on the Flash, elsworlds continued on Arrow. This post isn't going to be a long basic recap, I'll just try and share my opinion on the second part rather than just say everything that happened.    Still not knowing how they switched bodies, Oliver and Barry (with help from Kara) go to star city to get help from team arrow before going to Gotham city.  Now Gotham city was a major deal, everybody wanted to see what they'd make of Batman's city. In Gotham, they get into some trouble and get arrested and while in a cell, Oliver and Barry argue while Kara is stuck in the middle trying to go them.  They get bailed out by Kate Kane who brings an escort to take them to WayneTech.  There they meet her and she tells them she's Bruce Wayne's cousin and how she wants to help them find whatever they want as long as they leave her city afterwards.  She also tells them Bruce left Gotham becaus

ELSEWORLDS: PART ONE

The yearly DC CW crossover is back and this year's edition is titled Elseworlds which is loosely based on the DC comics storyline of the same name.  This year's event is a three night crossover that the legends will sadly not be a part of. With the first episode being released, I decided to talk about it and maybe make posts for the remaining two parts as well. This is basically a SPOILER filled rundown of the first episode but it doesn't contain information of every single thing that happened, so enjoy. Going in to see this first episode of the crossover, I was worried that maybe I'd have to catch up with Arrow and Supergirl; Two shows that I no longer watch for personal reasons that I will not be disclosing here....oh who am I kidding, they suck. They are little details of past episodes of the flash, arrow and supergirl here and there  but honestly, you don't even need to watch the shows religiously. In fact, if you haven't watched any episodes of any
