Gotham And The Joker

Gotham just revealed their version of the joker and I am honestly split because i don't know if I hate or love them for it.

First of all I have to give a big shout out to Cameron Monaghan for easing me through the transition from Jerome to Joker. I feel like his acting and line delivery foreshadowed what they wanted to do with the joker character. I might be mad that he isn't the joker but am also very happy that he is the person that made the joker.

Now let us analyse what happened on the show. Well it turns out Jerome has a long lost twin brother with the alias Xander who's real name is Jeremiah Valaska.

They started of introducing him as the polar opposite of his crazy brother but it turns out that he is also quite crazy and from my expectations,he might have had a hand in Jerome's madness which is poetic because Jerome returned the favour.

After seeing the eighteenth episode of season four,I didn't know what to think so I decided to check out online reactions to that same episode and it was mixed. A lot of people called it a brilliant move/twist but a lot of other people(like myself) saw it coming and found it unnecessary.

Now if you're still confused and want to get spoilers, let's get right to that. So it is revealed that Jerome enlists Thatch and Scarecrow to break out of Gotham with him for two reasons, one of which was to drive Gotham crazy like him using laughing gas (or as us DC Stans call it "Joker Toxin") and his other plan was to finish some "good 'old family business".

Jerome has a twin brother who was separated from Jerome because he(Jeremiah) lied to their mother about Jerome trying to kill him....which evidently means Jerome wasn't all that bad at first but he was simply misunderstood. Jerome tries to mess with Gotham's sanity with one of his usual grand gestures and when that fails(and he dies) he keeps a fail save installed for his dear brother Jeremiah in form of a specially created laugh toxin which fully unlocks the mad man in Jeremiah and makes him.....THE JOKER!!!!

Now to the jist of it all,I think in a previous season they did something with Jerome inspiring a whole lot of people who could be potential jokers. I liked that version a whole lot more because it feels more realistic and they could have easily kept a new joker hidden for many more seasons to come or at least till when Bruce became a whole lot more seasoned crime fighter.

Speaking of Bruce, this episode made him have a very good friendship with Jeremiah...so much so in fact that the package with the special laughing gas given to Jeremiah by his brother Jerome actually had Bruce Wayne written on it and I think that was a nice way to start the rivalry although ideally its the Joker VS Batman, this will be Joker VS Bruce.

The Gotham Writers decided to bring in a twin brother out of no where to pass on the joker legacy too which I didn't like at all. But it does mean one thing,we'll get more of Cameron's acting but I feel like he won't be as eccentric as he was playing Jerome for obvious reasons. This new Joker(yes Jerome was still a joker to me) seems like he'll be a whole lot more like his alter ego Jeremiah....calm,smart and batshit crazy!.

Honestly speaking though, the Gotham writers have done a great job with Jerome and I hope for them to kill him off(for good this time) they have bigger plans for his brother and new joker Jeremiah. Cameron really outdid himself because he's still on the show yet people are still pissed because he's no longer Jerome he's just plane old Jeremiah (I hope am corrected).

What did you think of what Gotham did? Did you like it? Do you feel disappointed or are you just in between like me...leave a comment saying how you feel.

First Listen: Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.

woah. brother broccoli starts 2023 with something totally unexpected: a psychedelic rock album. lil yachty said in an interview (with someone i don't remember) that he just wants to be taken seriously, as a musician. it's a little sad when someone puts their all into a craft, sometimes even create a groundbreaking sound, but still get termed the bare minimum or worse, "mumble rapper." while this album is beautiful, it's not as stellar as other projects in the same genre. but music is more than that. it's also the process, emotions, message, etc. brother broccoli took a risk to make what he wants/feels and he succeeded. that's what makes this album a beauty asides the wonky ai art and trying-hard-to-stay-in-the-flow lyricism . the features ate. the producers brought their a-game. the engineers blessed the record. since poland, it's clear that yachty decided to broaden his scope and make not just music he loves, but quality. i definitely respect his art...

Mowgli:Legend Of The Jungle

Mowgli legend of the jungle is an adaptation of the book "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling which inspired the creation of the Disney classic of the same name.  That said Disney classic got the live action treatment sometimes last year and it got praised for it faithfully stating true to the Disney classic and for its incredibly photorealistic CGI.  Mowgli tells the story of the jungle book again but this time, it isn't based on the Disney film but rather the original source material by Rudyard Kipling.  Disney's the jungle book wasn't a straight up faithful adaptation but it managed to stick to major plot points of the book and this film tries to flesh out those plot points by giving all the characters a realistic backstory that doesn't make characters beside the Man Cub feel like they're only there for plot convenience.  I haven't read book by Rudyard Kipling but I know this film is a more faithful adaptation than the Disney film.   Dire...

STRANGER THINGS 2

A lot of movies and shows are set in the past these days but in my own opinion, none of them really do it like STRANGER THINGS. If you remove the acting, the amazing plot, and chemistry, what you're left with is these show that has a very '80s feel because of the overall sound from the show and visuals.      Season 2 is a blast and it simply perfected the formula season 1 set which is, simple plot, great characters, good chemistry and amazing(classic)music. My face everytime Dustin jokes       The Season starts a year after and all our characters are basically trying to settle on after the ending of the first season. Mike's still trying to communicate with Eleven, Will is bullied in school, he's called "zombie boy", Lucas is well still Lucas and Dustin has teeth now,"Prrrr"(you'll get the joke soon enough)       I'll try not to be very spoiler-y so let's start up!!!. •MAX AND BILLY     The dick The new...

KOE NO KATACHI: A REVIEW?

Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice) is a 2016 Japanese [obviously] animated film written by Reiko Yoshida and directed by Naoko Yamada. The film is based on the manga of the same name, written by the great Yoshitoki Ōima. I just want to talk  type about this beautiful anime; don't think of this as some sort of review. P.S.: Little spoilers here and there. It starts off with Ishida - who'd later be the main male character - trying to commit suicide. And may I say... the musical build-up to the point where he is to jump off the bridge... SUBARASHI! It's utterly gorgeous [for the lack of a befitting word]. It's not over done with sad sounds or large synths. It's almost inaudible, gentle; it's the kind of music that would play in the head of a sad or depressed person. And it is explained in detail - his dilemma.  The movie's title makes sense because of Nishimiya. She's deaf. In middle school, she's a victim of bullying from her classmates in form of ignor...
