HATING ON AD ASTRA

Ad Astra is a space movie. It tries to depict what could be the future advancement of humanity and technology. It is a James Gray movie led by Brad Pitt that does not deserve to be seen more than twice. The second watch being a stretch. In all my life, I don't remember taking three days to finish a movie. I saw Justice League, End Game, The Godfather I and II, etc in one sitting, but not Ad Astra. While some might argue that the pace is perfect, I counter, asking, "To what end?"  Ad Astra is a space movie revolving around Roy McBride and unresolved daddy issues that somehow eats badly into his life. Notwithstanding, he's required to get to Neptune and stop a surge that could end human life. Brad Pitt delivers a stellar performance on what cold feels and sounds like with the material he's provided. I will now begin my hate. The music composition is one of the worst space movie compositions as it lacks originality and observable niche. It's a strivin

The Batman: Something’s In The Way!

A couple of years ago, Ben Affleck posted a tweet confirming incredible Matt Reeves as the director of his Batman movie called “The Batman”. Ben talked about having difficulty writing, starring in and directing the film so Matt Reeves was going to help with some of that. Unfortunately, Ben would later leave the project and Matt would then start work on directing the film himself with a new actor and set in its own universe. After a while, Robert Pattinson would be chosen to play the dark knight in Reeves film and after long time of split opinions from fans on the casting, we’ve finally arrived at the premiere of the Batman which was initially slated to release last year.  I saw The Batman yesterday with some of the biggest DC fans I know, like me, they’ve been going crazy counting down the release of this film, the hype has been incredible. I read reviews online and the majority called The Batman a masterpiece with some calling it the best superhero film ever and so, I went on a two

Euphoria: Back With A Bang!

After taking the world by storm in 2019, critically acclaimed HBO phenomenon Euphoria returns with its second season and from the looks of the premiere episode, it’s going to make its debut season look like child’s play.  Please note, there might be mild spoilers ahead The first episode of Euphoria’s sophomore season starts off like previous episodes, with an opening containing background info on a specific character and this time around, it’s none other than super chill fan favorite Fez. We get to find out about how his childhood was, how his surrogate little brother Ashtray came about and why he does what he does. As someone who already loved Fez before this, I have to say having more insight on his background really adds more depth to his character.  After our flashback opening the story moves to the new year which is after the Rue euphoria special which took place in Christmas where she went to a diner with Ali to talk about her life and issues with substance abuse. Rue is even m

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man in the MCU has always been a mixed bag for me, I loved his introduction in civil war, didn’t enjoy his first solo film that much, hated Far From Home but, with the hype surrounding this film, I had to go see it myself before the very annoying trolls spoilt it for me. This review is spoiler free and I’ll mostly be talking about what we already saw from the trailers thus far. After his battle with Mysterio at the end of Far From Home, Peter Parker’s identity has been revealed to the world and he must now find a way to navigate through life as a framed hero in the eyes of the public. This leads him to request help from Doctor Strange so he can make the world forget he’s Spider-Man. During the process of casting the spell, Peter interrupts Strange and botches it completely which then leads to villains from other realities who know Spider-Man to come through into the world of the marvel cinematic universe.  We get to see a lot of villains from the old Spider-Man films come thr
